Promotion of Vedas is TTD motto
Tirupati: One of TTD's prime mottos is preservation and promotion of Vedas, said the TTD EO, Dr D. Sambasiva Rao. Addressing the valedictory programme of the four-day International Veda-Science conference at Mahati Auditorium here, he said, the TTD is allocating Rs 40 crore ev-ery year towards the promotion activity of Vedas.
He said the TTD has an exclusive S.V. Veda Parirakshana Trust to take care of the Vedic-related activities and about Rs 31 crore is available with this trust with the largesse of donors. He also said, "We are providing a financial aid of Rs 1.50 lakh to about 105 Vedic schools in the country every year."
"A stipend of Rs 3 lakh is also being presented to every Vedic student after the completion of his course and we invite the intellectuals to share their opinions and views to further promote Vedas," he said.
The TTD EO suggested that the students and faculty of Vedic fraternity to come forward with extensive research in the areas of Vedic mathematics, Vedic sciences, astronomy, geology and more.
Vice-chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Samsthan of New Delhi, Prof. Parameswara Narayana Shastry, who attended as guest of honour said Vedas are not just related to some religion or religious activity or ancient Dharmic practices alone but Vedas means the knowledge. S.V. Vedic University vice-chancellor, Prof. K.E. Devanathan, the registrar, Prof. Krishna-murthy and other Vedic scholars and students were also present.
