Brit held for assaulting flight crew

According to airport sources, it all started when an air hostesses stopped serving liquor on board
Chennai: A 36-year-old British citizen of Sri Lankan origin was detained by Chennai airport police for allegedly creating ruckus by fighting with a cabin crew member of a British airlines flight in midair in an intoxicated state. He was flying from London to the city on Saturday early morning. Police identified the man as Buvaneswara Raja who was on his way to Sri Lanka to visit his relatives.
According to airport sources, it all started when an air hostesses stopped serving liquor on board.
Buvaneswara Raja reportedly asked for more quantity, but the crew refused to extend the service for him saying he had enough. He started arguing with the hostesses, pushed one of them and started abusing them. When other passengers tried to pacify him, he became more furious and shouted at them also. Finally, the captain informed the air traffic control at Chennai airport about the presence of a troublemaker inside the aircraft.
The ATC Chennai alerted the CISF immediately. As soon as the BA flight landed here around 5.30 am, a CISF team secured the passenger and handed him over to airport police. In a complaint, the airlines crew head said Buvaneswara Raja had assaulted cabin crew member Ryan Diaz after consuming alcohol.
