B Janardhan Poojary flays wedding bill

Income tax department probes into disproportionate assets, says Poojary
Mangalore: Former KPCC president B Janardhan Poojary on Saturday criticized the private member bill- Karnataka State Wedding Karnataka marriages (Registration and Miscellaneous Provisions) bill, 2015, moved in the Legislative Assembly by former speaker K R Ramesh Kumar.
Mr Poojary told reporters here: “People like to celebrate weddings as per their wish and serve lunch to as many people as they want to. Why should government control this? The income tax department probes into disproportionate assets. Why should the state government keep an eye on weddings?” adding that the government should intervene and checkmate such a move as the bill could induce more corruption.
