Architects plan Amaravati construction plan
Vijayawada: The Capital Regional Development Authority (CRDA) revealed the Amaravati capital city construction plan to architects of various countries.
The top officials of various government departments explained their demands to the world architects jury meeting which concluded on the second day here on Saturday.
The representatives of world top architecture organizations Foster Plus Partons and Rozer Sturk Harbour Plus Partons took part in the meeting. CRDA commissioner N. Srikanth, assembly secretary Satyanarayana and several senior officials of the CRDA, police and judiciary explained the required designs.
On this occasion, Mr Satyanarayana asked the architects to provide 200 seats in the new Assembly in keeping with the future needs. He also said that the Assembly and Council halls, chambers for speaker and council chairman and central hall should also be connected to both the Houses.
He requested them to provide entry for the CM and ministers to the Assembly and the Council. Spacious facilities would be provided for the Opposition parties, press and the visitors also, he added. Especially, the meeting halls and accommodation facilities for the President of India too will be provided in the Raj Bhavan.
High Court nodal officer Ravindra Babu requested the architectures to design 60 court halls in the Amaravati capital and a big conference hall for meeting of all judges. He explained the buildings required for Lokayuktas, Tribunals and various fora. The residences of judges also would be linked to the courts.
Police commissioner Gautam Sawang said that parking should not be provided in the cellar. The parking should be provided outside the buildings at nearest walking distance.
Japan Institute of Technology Professor Ervin Vire, noted architect Professor Christopher Beninzer and School of Planning, Delhi, former dean K.T. Ravindran were the jury members.
