I was asked to leave Housefull 3: Daisy Shah
Daisy Shah talks about her latest film Hate Story 3
Daisy Shah talks about her latest film Hate Story 3 and how Salman Khan continues to be her mentor, even after Jai Ho
Were you disappointed that Jai Ho was not a success?
We think the film was brilliant. It earned Rs 180 crore worldwide. Our mistake was not to hike the ticket prices on weekends. Had we done that, it would have been a bigger hit than Kick.
Is it true that Salman Khan recommended you sign Hate Story 3?
I am not denying that Salman has stood by me all this while. Since I debuted with his home production, I am his protégé. I always keep him in the loop when a script comes to me. I am glad that he hears me out.
What did he think of the promos of Hate Story 3?
Salman appreciated it. There’s nothing to dislike, it’s all about revenge and the content is bold.
You took a while to sign your second film...
Salman Khan launched me and my image was built on that. Also, people felt I had under-performed in Jai Ho, so good roles weren’t coming in.
What kind of rapport did you share with Zarine Khan on the sets, since both of you are Salman’s protégés?
Zarine and I never met during the shoot of the film. We don’t have any scenes together.
Did the bold scenes make you nervous?
Why should they? Priyanka Chopra did it in her very first film Andaaz and soon after in Aitraaz.
Any other film in pipeline after this one?
I had signed Housefull 3 but unfortunately I was asked to leave the film. At the last minute, the script was changed and the makers had to sign three international looking actresses.
