Infosys Foundation sets up 11 faculty chairs at eight leading academic institutes across India

Bengaluru: Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Infosys, has announced that it has instituted 11 faculty chairs at eight leading academic institutes across India, over the past 12 months.

The list of beneficiaries include International Institute for Information Technology and Indian Institute of Science in the city. Other beneficiaries are: Institute of Bioinformatics, Applied Biotechnology, Chennai, Mathematical Institute, Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations, Presidency University, All India Institute of Medical Science and Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad.

The Foundation has provided grants ranging from Rs 2 crore to Rs 33 crore for setting up chairs with a total commitment of Rs 56 crore. During the occasion Infosys Foundation Chairperson Sudha Murty said, “We encourage scientists and researchers to collaborate with international academicians and enrich the students with current concepts and latest technologies.”
