Chittoor Mayor murder: Rs 1 lakh announced for informers

Police department has declared Rs one lakh reward

Chittoor: Additional director general R.P. Thakur convened a meeting with the police officials including IG VV Gopalakrishna, DIG Satyanarayana and SP Srinivas at police guest house on Friday.

He learnt the details of the investigation about the murder case from the officials and directed the police officials to trace Chintu and also directed the finger prints team officials to identify the impressions of other persons at the incident spot.

Later speaking to media, he said the police department has declared Rs one lakh reward to the person who gives information about the prime accused Chintu and he also said the details of the informer should be kept secret.

He said that they will nab the culprits who were involved in the heinous murder of two Telugu Desam leaders, including Chittoor mayor Katari Anuradha and her husband Katari Mohan on November 15.

Earlier, he visited the Chittoor Municipal Corporation office on Friday morning. He inspected the mayor's chamber where the assailants attacked both the leaders with pistol and knives.

He interacted with the staff, who were present at the time of attack and directed the police officials to take four employees into custody for investigation on suspects. He also learnt the details of the murder and how the assailants entered into the chamber.

Later, Mr Thakur went to One Town police station where Chintu alias Chandrasekhar's parents S.S. Naidu and Sakkubai were given shelter for the past two days for protection from attacks of the followers of the deceased Mohan and asked them about the details of Chintu and his rivalry with Mohan.
