AP CM Chandrababu Naidu announces compensation
Nellore: CM Chandrababu Naidu visited the flood affected areas of Nellore district on Friday.
He promised a compensation of Rs 50,000 for houses collapsed during the rains, Rs 25,000 for partially damaged houses and Rs 6500 to damaged thatched houses. He also assured Rs 10,000 for weavers wherever their looms are waterlogged. He also announced 25 kg of rice, one kg sugar and one kg red gram and one packet of palm oil for victims in Nellore and Chittoor districts.
Interacting with residents of flood affected areas in Venkatagiri town on Friday night, he advised the white ration cardholders to demand and collect their quota of ration if fair price shop dealers fail to deliver.
He told the officials to arrange food, if necessary, from hotels for victims shifted to relief camps. He had a word of praise for Venkatagiri legislator K. Ramakrishna and Municipal Chairman Sarada for arranging food to the rain hit residents.
He said precarious financial position of the state is restricting them from offering more compensation. The CM assured steps to repair the breached tanks on war footing to store water for crops this year.
Ministers P.Narayana, Sidda Raghava Rao, MLC Vakati Narayana Reddy, former legislator Saikrishna Yachendra, Collector M. Janaki, Joint Collector A.Md. Imtiaz and SP Gajarao Bhupal were present with the CM.
