Of late, Tamil cinema is witnessing new age directors and producers who come up with out-of- the- box themes and also execute them effectively. Instead of chasing big stars and waiting for them endlessly, they choose a cast of newcomers, and complete the film with a reasonable budget. One such promising movie is Pattaya Kilappum Pasanga (PKP), which is directed by Anoop Raj who had his tutelage under ace filmmaker Vinayan (known for his path-breaking films like Kasi and Arpudha Theevu).
The movie is about three aimless youngsters whose lives go topsy-turvy after they are cheated by a conman. While debutants Limu Shankar, Maanav and Shamsheer appear as male leads, Kalpana, Riniraj and Kanakalatha are the girls in the movie. Popular Malayalam comedian Pashanam Shaji who has been given the sobriquet ‘New Senthil’ will be foraying in Tamil.
