Mollywood girls are the preferred lot when it comes to casting newbies in a Tamil film. Following a long list of M’town girls including Nayanthara, Asin, Lakshmi Menon and Nazriya, here is the doe-eyed Kalyani Nair who makes her debut in Tamil with the movie Pudhusa Naan Porandhen (PNP) in a meaty role.
Directed by Majid Abu, Biyon who has acted as a child artiste in several films, including the younger version of Sarath Kumar in Thenkasi Pattinam, turns hero with PNP. Talking about the movie, the director says, “It’s a romantic thriller which takes place in a day’s time. Most part of the film has been shot at night in the hilly terrains of Kodaikanal.” Veteran actor Kalabhavan Mani appears in a crucial role; that of a police officer in the movie.
