Priyanka Chopra breaks down at 'Bajirao Mastani' trailer launch
Mumbai: With 'Bajirao Mastani', the biggest dream of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has finally come true. The film has managed to create enough curiosity amongst gossipmongers. The team launched the trailer of 'Bajirao Mastani' at a theatre in Mumbai on Friday. Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali presented the trailer while Priyanka Chopra joined the launch through a live videoconference from Montreal.
Since the love story of the warrior Peshwa Bajirao was untold so far, director Sanjay had plans to make this project since last 12 years. Many names were speculated about the characters but Ranveer, Deepika and Priyanka bagged this once in a lifetime opportunity. Since it is a periodic film, the actors had to hire a dialect coach to get the dialect of that era. On this Deepika said, "Special dialect coach was hired for everyone separately. We all ensured to get the right dialect and we learned the dialect."
While Priyanka Chopra is out shooting for her TV series ‘Quantico’, the actress, who is playing Kashibai in the film feels that 'Bajirao Mastani' has created a lot of buzz abroad as well.
Ranveer and Deepika been paired up in 'Ramleela' before together. During the promotions they confirmed to the media that, their roles in the film was the most challenging ones they had done in their careers till date. “After shooting for 'Bajirao Mastani', it feels that this is my most challenging role till date. It is very demanding role. 'Ram-Leela' was the preparation for this one.”
Even before its release, 'Bajirao Mastani' has managed to get itself into a lot of controversy. The film hit troubled waters when descendants of the Peshwa reacted against the film and the song ‘Pinga’.
Priyanka broke her silence on the same and said, "The love story is definitely a part of history. The film is based on a book ‘Rao’, it's a beautiful epic saga. Please see the film as Sanjay sir's version and nothing else."
For Ranveer Singh, the 'Bajirao Mastani' journey has been ‘super challenging’. At the trailer launch, Deepika revealed her set of challenges to play the part. She said, "For me horse riding sequences were difficult but all the safety measures were taken care of."
During live conferencing, Priyanka Chopra broke down several times. The actress who was constantly flying on and off the sets modestly said that he co-stars did all the hard work. A teary eyed Priyanka said, "Actually Ranveer and Deepika did all hard work and I used to walk on the sets in 11 yards navari Saree. I had a blast doing this film."
