Police claims 15 naxals killed in Bastar, 2 bodies found
Raipur: Chhattisgarh police on Thursday claimed to have gunned down 15 Naxals in an encounter in south Bastar district of Sukma in the state. However, bodies of two Maoists, including one woman cadre, have been recovered at the encounter site so far, Bastar inspector-general of police S.R.P. Kalluri said.
“Acting on a tip off about the presence of Maoist commander Hidma in the area, a joint operation was launched in Dubbakonta area. It resulted in a gun battle,” Mr Kalluri said.
Intelligence had sounded on Hidma’s arrival in the marriage ceremony of a Naxal cadre in Dubbakonta area, police sources said.
