CHIKKAMAGALURU: A son allegedly killed his father at Kumbaragodu village in Chikkamagaluru and as the body started to decompose, he killed a stray dog, to trick the neighbours to give them the impression that foul smell was emanating from the decomposed carcass of the dog.

However, the murder which is said to have taken place a fortnight back but came to light on Wednesday when one of the relatives of the deceased came searching to the house at Kumbaragodu village under Balehonnur police station limits. Police said Denny along with his accomplice Kenche Gowda were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the stealing and slaughter of a calf, allegedly murdered his father Paulus (67) and kept the body in his shed.

Then as the body started to decompose, he killed a dog and made the carcass to decompose in his house vicinity so that neighbors would be under the impression that the stink was emanating from the carcass. Denny was successful in his endeavor but his arrest over beef sale exposed the matter. The arrest of Denny came to knowledge of his brother who is in Mumbai.

Denny’s brother asked one of his relative to enquiry about his father as he would be alone at the house. The relative who came to the house of Denny peeped through the window only to find a decomposed body in the shed. Later, police was informed and the murder came to light.

Even, the police which raided the house of Denny to search beef being sold there could not trace the decomposed body and arrested only Denny. They seized about 20 packets of beef meant for sale.

The reason for Denny allegedly killing his father is yet to be ascertained.
