When actor Chandran of Kayal fame and city-based Video Jockey (VJ) Anjana Rangan got to know each other, little did both think they would end up marrying each other. “I used to work as a sales executive with the same network that Anjana was in. But I hardly knew her then. This January, we met at the Edison Awards and I instantly took a liking for her. I told my Amma (mother), I want a girl like her. And she said, why not Anjana herself,” Chandran laughs and adds this is how it all started.
“We became close friends and now we have decided to take our friendship to the next level. I brought her to my home and proposed to her on April 13 around 2 am. I didn’t say ‘I love you’ but asked her hand straight in marriage and she immediately said ‘yes’. The engagement is on November 29 and the wedding is on March 10,” Chandran tells us.
We ask him how he felt when Anjana accepted his proposal, Chandran smiles, “Oh, I was so happy and never expected that she would do this soon.” He can’t stop talking about her. and says, “We respect each others’ space and understand how our work atmospheres are. We developed a special bonding over a period of time.”
Chandran quickly mentions that the wedding will have a close-knit gathering of friends and family. “We have known each other for quite sometime now and it will be a love-cum-arranged marriage. At my place, people know her well. Even when I am not with my family, she still hangs out with them and vice versa.” On the professional front, Chandran currently has Grahanam and Paisal in his kitty.
