LEAKED: Indian manufacturer to launch a smartwatch below Rs 7,000
Indian smartphone manufacturer Wickedleak, the ones behind the Wammy brand of budget smartphones, seems to be secretly working on launching a smartwatch in India. Since the brand is keen on launching budget products, the wearable is also reportedly kept at a cost below Rs 7,000.
According to our sources, the Wickedleak smartwatch is based on an MTK chipset and will be compatible with both Android smartphones and iPhones. On confirming about the wearable, the source informed that the smartwatch is not a ‘phone in a watch’, but will work similar to the other Android wearables on the lines of the LG, Samsung, ASUS and others.
Adding to the information, our sources mentioned that the smartwatch will have a heart rate monitor, a pedometer, call and message reminders, and a few more features. The watch is water and dust proof and will feature a 3D curved glass with a wide angle for viewing. There is no information about the operating system and battery life as yet. However, the device is speculated to be launched within a few weeks.
