Six ministers camping in Cuddalore

District administration on Wednesday said that 90 per cent of the canal breaches were fixed at 94 places
Chennai: Six ministers including O. Panneerselvam and Natham Viswanathan, have been camping in Cuddalore for the last one week and attending to flood relief work in the district.
The district administration on Wednesday said that 90 per cent of the canal breaches were fixed at 94 places. The rest of the work is expected to be over in another couple of days. Apart from the senior ministers, 2,000 government employees from other districts including 10 IAS officers 11 PWD executive engineers are now working on war-footing. “In all, 2.5 lakh sands bags, 25 tonne casuarinas are being used to fix breaches. More than 100 rehabilitation camps were set up to shelter over 10,000 people, affected by floods in the district last week. These people are provided with medical care and food,” a government official said.
