Google Glass 2.0 to have at least one screen-less variant

Project Aura is being headed Tony Fadell and is expected to launch in 2016

Mumbai: Google is currently working on re-designing their not-so-successful Google Glass, and according to a report published on The Information; the search giants are developing at least one glass-less variant.

Google Glass 2.0 is presently in development under Project Aura, and is being headed by Nest Co-founder Tony Fadell. The report suggested that the Glass 2.0 might be avaialble in three variants.

However, possibilities are equally high that only two devices will be launched—one with the glass screen and one without.

The report also points out that one of the variants is targeted at enterprises, and will be accompanied by a screen. The other variants meant for every day users will be relying entirely on audio functionality, and will not feature a screen. Moreover, they will be utilising bone conduction technology, similar to the original Google Glass.

The report further indicated that the Project Aura team headed by Fadell is also hiring audio experts from Amazon.com to work on the enterprise-focused model with a display, which will surely have a much higher resolution quality than the explorer edition.

Considering the disastrous response garnered by the first Glass model, the California-based tech giant is being extra careful with the design aspects of the Google Glass 2.0, which the company aims to launch in 2016.
