Telugu Desam, BJP say CM Chandrasekhar Rao is distorting facts
Hyderabad: BJP and Telugu Desam leaders on Tuesday lashed out at Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, accusing him of distorting facts regarding Central assistance to the state government in various spheres. The two parties alleged that Mr Rao was taking credit for centrally-sponsored schemes and funds.
“TRS is spreading lies that Centre is not helpful to the TS government. The Central government has extended all support to TS for establishment of power projects and other developmental schemes,” K. Laxman, BJP Floor leader in the Assembly said. He denied that the Centre was discriminating against TS, vis-a-vis AP in the implementation of AP Reorganisation Act.
“Centre is committed to the promises made to Telangana. It will stand by the state government,” Dr Laxman said.
Elsewhere, TD politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and MLA K.P. Vivekanand said, “The Centre earmarked Rs 1,633 crore under the Central housing scheme for construction of 83,678 houses and has already released Rs 680 crore to the TS government. KCR is taking people and Warangal voters for a ride by showcasing the two-bedroom houses at IDH Colony in Secunderabad. Funds are from the Centre, while the state government is doing gruha pravesham (housewarming ceremony). KCR is claiming Central funds as state government funds.”
