Visakhapatnam: In a significant development, Jones Lang LaSalle Property Consultants (India) Private Limited (JLL), finalised conceptual design of the AP’s IT Signature Tower planned in Vizag.

The design has been inspired by thumb impression which is the unique identity of a human and infinite waves. The Signature Tower overlooking the sea will come up in a thumb impression shape in an elliptical form, broken into two separate buildings creating passage for free flow of air.

It was designed as per the polygonal shape of the site in Madhurawada IT SEZ. The design, has been finalised, keeping in view the last year’s Hudhud cyclone to withstand wind speed more than 280kmph and massive earthquakes.

The broken lines on the façade depict the uniqueness of ridges on the thumb impression and is the ethos of the design. The free flowing curvilinear lines are inspired by freedom of infinite waves.

APIIC has appointed JLL, the NYSE listed company as project advisor for the Signature Tower, which will be an iconic structure, on the lines of Hyderabad’s Cyber towers, which transformed the IT sector in the capital city in the combined Andhra Pradesh.

The project advisors have prepared the illustrative concept plan for the project and also the thought process, the artistic impression of the proposed signature tower project.

The bidding time has also been extended to December 5 with the requests from the prospective bidders to become a joint venture partner to develop the Signature Tower project.

Other than  space for IT and ITES companies, the signature tower will also have auxiliary activities like support retail, food & beverages facilities, business hotel/ serviced apartments and open air theatre/ amphitheatre along with minimum car parking as per development control regulations.

“Hopefully by the middle of December, the development partner should be identified,” a senior official of the APIIC told this correspondent.
