Bond’s long kiss in Spectre gets the big cut from Censor Board
James Bond now has a new name... at least in India. You can introduce him as Bond, James Sitaram Krishnakumar Bond, because he’s sanskari now. And all this because right before the release of the Daniel Craig’s latest, the Censor Board has cleared the film with four cuts — two visual and two verbal. The visuals are two kissing scenes in the film which have now been reduced to half.
Twitterattis didn’t take long to start mocking the cuts. It’s claimed the Censor Board said, “long kisses are not Indian”. With #sanskariJamesBond, twitter users had a field day mocking the Censor Board. One user wrote, “The Pooja Is Not Enough.” The steamy trailer of Hate Story 3 was also brought in at this juncture. A twitter user Anurag Verma wrote, “Censor board to cut kissing scenes? Hate Story 3 will be released in MP3 format.”
Emraan Haashmi too took a hit. While one talked about how Emraan Haashmi will now have to rework his CV another wrote, “Emran Hashmi just unfriended Censor board on Facebook.”
