Asad Owaisi: ISIS anti-Islam, Azam Khan is wrong

He said the people of UP will teach the SP a lesson

Hyderabad: AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday criticised Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan for saying that the Paris terror attacks were the result of actions of global superpowers like America and Russia.

Speaking to the media at the party office, the MP condemned the terrorist attacks in Paris and said “Azam Khan may be an expert in international terrorism, but I am not. Terrorism should be condemned and those who support terrorists should also be condemned”

He said that Sunni Muslim scholars across the globe and scholars of various schools of thoughts of Islam have already issued fatwas declaring that the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) was in no way connected to Islam.

Mr Owaisi said the ISIS massacred about 1.50 lakh Muslims across the globe and it cannot be linked to Islam, because its members are murderers and rapists. “The terror outfit is a blot on Islam,” he said.

The MP said a vacuum was created in Iraq as the US failed in establishing peace and this vacuum paved the way for ISIS to spread.

A similar scenario can be repeated in Afghanistan, he said. Replying to a question on formation of a grand alliance in Uttar Pradesh by the Samajwadi Party, on lines of the one in Bihar, Mr Owaisi said that no alliance will save the SP in UP as the people were vexed with its rule due to its failure in maintaining law and order and in implementing welfare and development schemes. He said the people of UP will teach the SP a lesson.
