Warangal bypoll: TRS, opposition lock horns in poll campaign

TRS is responding to the allegations of the opposition parties

Warangal: The campaign for the Warangal bypoll is gaining momentum with each passing day. While all political parties are bringing in their star campaigners, there is rank hostility between the TRS and other opposition parties.

All the parties are trying to gain the upper hand in Warangal and attract voters. While the Congress and BJP are questioning the TRS government’s failure to implement promises, the TRS is pointing at mistakes of the Congress during their rule.

A senior Congress leader has compiled a book titled ‘50 questions for 500 days of TRS misrule’ in which he posed 50 questions to the ruling party regarding jobs for the youth, industrial policy, farm loan waiver and drought, among others.

He said in his book that TRS brought only tears, pain, harassment, disappointment during its 500-day rule and appealed to people to wake up and fight against injustice.

BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy wrote an open letter to Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, questioning the failed promises. He said that there is a world of difference between what the Chief Minister is saying and what he is doing. He too posed 32 questions in the letter. Even in public meetings, party leaders asked the people to think what Mr Rao has done for their welfare.

The TRS is responding to the allegations of the opposition parties. Minister Harish Rao questioned the Congress about what they did during its 10-year rule. The minister pointed to the nine promises in the Congress manifesto before the 2009 election and asked how many of them were fulfilled.
