Warangal Bypoll: Jagan Mohan Reddy blames state for farmers’ plight
Warangal: YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy worked extensively for the welfare of the poor and blamed the TRS government for the poor condition of the farmers in the state. Addressing a massive crowd at Thorrur on Sunday, he said that after YSR, no other Chief Minister has succeeded in giving a happy and worry-free life. “YSR wanted to make sure every student got free education and every poor family gets proper medication. That is why he introduced schemes like fee reimbursement and Arogyasri. 48 lakh houses were built during his rule. What is the condition of the state now? KCR is carrying out autocratic rule and does not even care about farmers. In Warangal alone, 150 farmers committed suicide and the Chief Minister did nothing to console them,” he said.
Mr Reddy arrived in Warangal to take part in the party’s campaign in the district. He reached Palakurthy first where he was accorded a grand welcome by supporters in large numbers. Local women welcomed him with Bathukamma and Bonalu. He took part in a road show from Palakurthy stopping by at various places along Zaffergadh, Wardha-nnapet, Rayaparthi and Thorrur. Supporters turned up in large numbers.
