Mumbai: Dr. Abraham Benjamin de Villiers believes that the catch taken by Indian wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha to dismiss his son was not a clean one. The bowler was Ravindra Jadeja.
Speaking from Bengaluru on rain-marred day 2 (Sunday) of the Test match, the dad said, "I don't think it was a clean catch and not only me but many believe so. The big question is whether the ball had touched to the batsman's bat."
Since Saturday, the videos going around in social media showing edge was doubtful and catch wasn't clean.
The family, however, has no complains. "It was an unfortunate thing to have happened but we are not crying over it," he added.
"We are also not disappointed on AB de missing the century in his 100th Test. 85 (runs) is not a bad score either and it was nice to see him getting these runs. We watched every ball he faced and saw every single run he scored," the family added.
The family is not very optimistic about the son scoring hundred in the second innings of his 100th Test.
"The game was washed out today and more rain is predicted during next few days. We don't know whether the game would resume for next three days. Let us see how it goes."
