Kumar and his associate Padmavathi Sunitha had promised her a job

Hyderabad: The Railway Police on Sunday rescued two girls and a 25-year-old woman who were kidnapped at the Secunderabad railway station on November 6. Police arrested two men and five women, who were allegedly involved in kidnapping young women and girls and forcing them into the sex trade. During investigations into the kidnapping of the 25-year-old woman, the railway police raided the residence of one B. Kumar, who has a record of property offences, at IDA Bolaram and rescued her. Kumar and his associate Padmavathi Sunitha had promised her a job and had kidnapped her.

“Based on their confession, we arrested five others who were involved in the racket. They were involved in prostitution and had trapped other women by promising jobs and by other means. They even kidnapped small girls to sell them to brothels,” said Secunderabad Railway Police superintendent S. J. Janardhan. The police also rescued five-year-old Durga, who had been kidnapped by Sunitha at the Secunderabad railway station, and another five-year-old, Vaishnavi, from the residence of K. Shankar and K. Divya at Boduppal.

The other members of the gang were identified as K. Begumma, M. Boosa and Ch. Kamalamma. Kumar and Shankar were earlier involved in offences under different police stations in the city and other districts.
