Vijayawada: Gudivada MLA  Kodali Venkateswara Rao alias Nani challenged Chief Minister N.  Chandrababu Naidu or a member of his family to contest from Gudi-vada constituency and win over him in 2019 elections.

Speaking to media persons after being released on station bail at Gudivada I-Town police station,  Mr Rao said that he was arrested for objecting to the removal of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajas-ekhar Reddy’s painting  from beside the painting of Telugu Desam foundr and former CM N.T. Rama Rao at his party office.

Mr Rao said that they were told to vacate the house only two days ago and was insisted to remove painting of Mr Reddy.

Terming the intervention of police and his subsequent arrest as an indirect act of revenge by government and the CM , Mr Rao challenged Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu or a a member of his family to contest against him in Gudivada in the next elections. Mr Rao said that he would leave the state if TD defeated him.

Later YSRC activists lifted Mr Nani on their shoulders and took him in a procession. Mr Nani further said that they would continue to run the party office even infront of the building and would take a legal course if need be in this regard.
