Lena, who is in Rajasthan shooting for her Bollywood movie Airlift, is playing not just the Malayali stuck in the Indo-Kuwait war, but donning the role of a Malayalam tutor as well. Lena has been teaching Kannada actor Prakash Belawadi, who plays Lena’s husband in the film, Malayalam, on the sets of Airlift.
“Most of the scenes have us conversing in Hindi. But since we are a family from Kerala, the conversations we have between the family members, within our own house is in Malayalam.
Since Prakash Sir is a Kannadiga, he has been learning his Malayalam dialogues from me. He is a fast learner. After a while, we even started saying impromptu dialogues in Malayalam to each other in certain scenes. He picked up the language very quickly,” says Lena. Ritika plays the daughter of the duo in the movie directed by Raja Krishna Menon.
