Karnataka: BJP keen on making Shankaramurthy governor?
Bengaluru: State Legislative Council Chairman D.H. Shankaramurthy revealed that a few BJP national leaders have sought to know if he was willing to become governor of a state.
Talking to reporters here on Friday, he said, some senior BJP leaders called him up a few months ago to ask whether he was interested to become governor since he was a senior BJP leader in Karnataka.
Decision not conveyed
“I have not conveyed my decision yet. I will think about it only if it materializes. I will be happy to share information with media persons after the government of India takes a decision in this regard".
Not biased
The chairman said that he was not biased as claimed by some members. This kind of allegation was common against all presiding officers in the past. Even Bharatiya Janata Party members are not happy with him for not being given a chance to speak in the Council, he said.
“As presiding officer, I have to ensure completion of the day's procedure within the given time. “So members feel annoyed if they are denied an opportunity. I can't give opportunity to every member in the House to speak,” he said
The portraits of Dr B.R.
