Crime branch to probe Swami Saswathikananda death
Kochi: The Crime Branch probing the death of Swami Saswathikananda submitted before Kerala High Court on Friday that a detailed plan of action has been prepared and that it would conduct a detailed inquiry into the allegation against the role of SNDP chief Vellappally Natesan, his wife and son Thushar Vellappally in the case.
Mr P.K. Madhu, Superintendent of Police, submitted that the reason for the drowning of Swami who knew swimming well would also be probed in detail.
The possibility of adding insulin in the milk served to Saswathikananda should be verified. Biju Ramesh had deposed that Sabu had added insulin to the milk.
According to the Crime Branch, Biju's statement did not contain any direct information regarding the commission of cognizable offence related to the death.
The statement was filed in response to a plea filed by All-Kerala Anti-Corruption and Human Rights Protection Council seeking a directive to the Crime Branch to conduct a further investigation into the case based on the revelation by Biju Ramesh.
He further submitted that the government had ordered further investigation based on the revelation made by Biju Ramesh. The probe would be conducted to find out the roles of Swami Sookshmanantha, who was with Saswathikananda on the day of the incident from Muttada to Aluva; Priyan; Swami's personal assistant Sabu and driver Subhash; and Sujathan of Mavelikkara who provided accommodation to Saswatheekananda, Vellappally and others during their visit abroad.
