Advocate held for ‘derogatory’ post against Jayalalithaa

Police registered a case against Sridhar
OOTY: The town police here arrested an advocate for posting a derogatory image of Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa in social media. Stating that the police acted on the complaint lodged by T.K.Devaraj, town secretary of AIADMK in Ooty, Vinayagam, inspector, said the complainant had alleged that B.C. Sridhar, an advocate here, had allegedly posted a derogatory picture of Jayalalithaa on Deepavali day in social media.
Police registered a case against Sridhar under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Women Harassment Act and Information Technology Act and arrested him on Friday. He was produced before the court and remanded to custody, the police officer said.
