The Rock fought depression
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, one of the most loved wrestlers-turned-actors, might come across as an upbeat person, but the star recently opened up about his depression on Oprah’s Master Class.
According to the Us magazine, he spoke about the “dark phase” in his life after he was passed on by the NFL and then got cut off from the Canadian Football League at the age of 23.
Back then, Dwayne was living in his parents’ home and didn’t know what to do with his life. He told Us magazine, “I found that with depression one of the most important things you could realise is that you’re not alone. You’re not the first to go through it, you’re not going to be the last to go through it and often times, you feel like you’re alone and you feel like it’s only you and you’re in your bubble. I wish I had someone at that time who could just pull me aside and say, ‘Hey, it’s going to be okay’.”
