Thiruvananthapuram airport adjudged best maintained

The airport has bagged the honour the prestigious honour earlier also

Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport has been adjudged as the best among the eleven international airports maintained by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in the Airport Quality Survey for the quarter July-September 2015.
The city airport bagged 4.89 points on a five point scale. The global average of the survey being conducted by Airport Council International (ACI) was 4.12 points. Earlier also the city airport got the honour.
Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Lucknow shared the second place with 4.76 points and Goa airport third with 4.72 point. Incheon Airport in Seoul is first in the Asia Pacific region with 4.99 points.
Thiruvananthapuram airport director George G Tharakan said that the recently introduced facilities at the airport like Wi-Fi connectivity, opening of additional gates in departure, more lounges with dining facilities, the ‘May I Help You Counter’ and KSRTC air-conditioned bus service from the airport to the city enhanced the services at the airport.
ACI, which is the global body of International airports, conducts the surveys globally by collecting passenger feedback on key service parameters. AAI had recently prescribed a 15-point parameter for its airports on improving service.
