Row over SI’s transfer: Orders kept pending

The transfer move was initiated after the SI took the driver of Mr Anoop Jacob into custody for drunk driving the other day
Kochi: Amidst the row over the transfer of S. Rajesh, the SI of Udayamperoor police station at the instance of minister of food and civil Supplies Anoop Jacob , DGP T.P. Sen Kumar has directed city police commissioner M.P. Dinesh not to release the order until further orders. This is contrary to the DGP’s earlier statement that the transfer order was revoked.
The transfer move was initiated after the SI took the driver of Mr Anoop Jacob into custody for drunk driving the other day.
“The transfer order has not been annulled but the DGP directed us not to release the order. It was on Thursday morning that the city police commissioner received the transfer order and the DGP directed us over phone not to release it,” said the police.
Mr Sen Kumar told DC, “There is a complaint that the SI misbehaved and the transfer was as a punishment for it.”
He was not willing to answer who had filed the complaint against the SI for misbehaviour and when.
The police officers in the department said that the complaint was manipulated to substantiate their stand for transferring the SI.
