Elderly couple murdered in Delhi, house ransacked
New Delhi: In a horrific case of twin murder, an elderly couple were allegedly smothered to death in the posh colony of Kailash area early on Friday morning by unidentified men after their house was ransacked.
84-year-old Manohar Lal Madan and his wife Vimla who was 80 were in the national capital to spend Diwali with their eldest son.
"There were no CCTV cameras but on prima facie it is appearing the case of robbery as the wardrobe has been ransacked and destroyed," RS Krishnaiya Joint Commissioner of Police, South Delhi told the media.
The intruders reportedly went to the building to proceed with robbing the place, however, they went ahead to the first floor and tried to attack their son.
The family is asserting that it is a case of robbery. It has not been clear until now how much has been stolen by the assailants.
