Aamir, Hugh approached before Arnold?
The Terminator star has reportedly been offered Rs 100 crores
There has been a lot of buzz surrounding Enthiran 2, the sequel to Shankar’s earlier magnum opus Enthiran, ever since reports on it surfaced first in the media. We were the first to report that Shankar, the showman of Tamil cinema had roped in Hollywood biggie Arnold Schwarzenegger to play the antagonist against Superstar Rajinikanth who essays the lead hero. Bankrolled by Lyca International, who are in the process of entering the Indian production market in a big way, the Terminator star has reportedly been offered Rs 100 crores, which includes the total package for the actor and his accomplices. It was Arnie’s visit to Chennai during the audio launch of Shankar’s earlier film I, which apparently did the trick.
But a little birdie tells us that Arnold was not the first choice of the filmmaker for the role. A unit source reveals, “Initially a few other actors were considered and even contacted for the role of the villain. They include Aamir Khan, Kamal Haasan and even Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman of the Wolverine fame! For some reason they all turned down the
offer and it finally fell into the lap of Schwarzenegger.”
Enthiran 2 will be shot in 3D and some of the crucial scenes will be done in motion capture technology. One may recall that Rajini’s daughter Soundarya used motion capture technology in her debut flick Kochadaiiyaan with her dad.
