1,910 local body leaders to swear in today
Kochi: A total of 1,910 local body representatives of the Ernakulam district will be sworn in and assume office on Thursday. The remaining 142 representatives in eight local bodies out of the 2,052 representatives will swear in on November 30. This is because the term of the previous representatives in these local bodies ended only on Wednesday.
The swearing in at grama, block and district panchayats will be held at 10 am while in municipal corporations it will be held at 11.30 am.
E.K. Krishnankutty, who is 63-years-old, was elected from the 29th division will be the first to swear in at Tripunithura municipality. UDF member Baby Paul, 58, elected from ward 17 will swear in first at Maradu municipality.
First to swear in at Aluva municipality will be Timmy Teacher, 65, in Angamaly municipality it will be T.T. Devassikutty, 63 and in Kalamassery municipality it will be Gopalakrishna Pillai, 61.
