BJP provides coaching to elected members in Thiruvananthapuram

Mr Krishnadas said the poll outcome created a stir at the national level as well

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP national executive member P. K. Krishnadas on Wednesday said the state’s “bi-polar” politics would soon turn “tri-polar”.

He was addressing representatives elected to Thiruvananthapuram corporation, block panchayats, grama panchayats, district panchayats and municipalities on the eve of their swearing-in.

Mr Krishnadas said the poll outcome created a stir at the national level as well. He expressed confidence that BJP’s surge would upset the plans of both LDF and UDF, and the Lotus would bloom in several constituencies in the next year’s state elections.

When the third front comes, he claimed, the LDF and UDF would disintegrate. “The LDF lost 3.5 lakh votes or five percent vote share. Similarly, UDF lost 10 lakh votes and nine percent vote share.”

“But when it came to BJP, we gained 15 lakh votes more and increased vote share by seven percent. During Assembly elections, more community organisations will join hands with BJP,” said Mr Krishnadas.

He demanded Chief Minister Oommen Chandy too should resign in the wake of K. M. Mani stepping down in bar scam.

The elected representatives were given a class on how to complete the application form and on the swearing in.

District BJP president S. Suresh, state vice-president George Kurien and general secretary K. R. Umakanthan also attended the convention which was held at Bank Employees Hall here.
