Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (PRDP), Sooraj Barjatya’s magnum opus starring Salman Khan is currently 2 hours, 50 minutes long. But the length maybe further chopped, as some veterans have suggested it. We hear Salman’s father Salim Khan feels that the film needs to be edited and seconding him is Sooraj Barjatya’s father Rajkumar Barjatya. The latter has in fact convinced his son to chop a few bits.
Says a source close to the project, “Rajji is the most democratic filmmaker in Mumbai. He shows his films to all his friends and relatives to seek their suggestions. This film too has been no exception. A lot of people have opined that the film is too long, so now it will be shortened by 15 minutes or so.” Apparently, there is a lengthy football match sequence in the current cut. The source adds, “Rajji has persuaded Sooraj to edit that out. Also, there are too many songs in the film and a few of them may be pulled out too before its Diwali release.”
