Hyderabad: Transport minister P. Mahender Reddy on Tuesday said a two-member team of senior officials is being sent to Tamil Nadu and Kerala to fine tune an agreement which will ensure vehicles from these three states are not taxed when they enter in these states.
Earlier, the agreement was between Kerala, Tamil Nadu and undivided AP. However, after bifurcation, the two states continued the agreement with AP and border tax is being collected from buses entering the two states from TS.
On rationalisation of taxes, the minister promised to arrange a meeting of bus and cab operators with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at the earliest.
Prima facie, he agreed that the taxes need to be rationalised as previous rates were based on 23 districts of undivided Andhra Pradesh and the latest slabs should be based on 10 districts of Telangana.
