DYFI stages protest against KM Mani

The activists took out protest in front of commissioner office in the city on Tuesday

KOZHIKODE: Pro-CPM youth wing DYFI staged a protest march in front of Commissioner Office on Tuesday demanding the resignation of Kerala Finance Minister K M Mani following the adverse remarks by Kerala High Court over the bar bribe case. DYFI activists also demanded Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala not to continue in their post any longer for supporting a corruptive Minister for a long term.

According to the activists, the judgment of the High Court has already proved the stand of Communist party taken before as correct and it will be utter shame if Mani continues to be in the post. Pressure has now been mounted on Mani from several quarters to resign following certain adverse remark made by the Kerala HC related to the case.

Chief Minister himself had once said that Mani has no special role in the liquor policy as the decision to shut down bars below five star categories was taken by cabinet collectively. Now since everything is clear before all after HC remarks against Mani, CM himself should take steps for his resignation, activists demanded.
