Hyderabad: Chain snatchers on Tuesday attacked a private school teacher pillion riding with her father and snatched her three-tola gold chain in Pedda Amberpet area. The victim P. Jyothy fell from the bike and suffered severe injuries on her right collarbone and bruises on her face and arms. She is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Ms Jyothy, 33, works as a teacher at a private school at Pedda Amberpet area. She along with her husband P. Madhusudan Reddy, a businessman stay at Pedda Amberpet area. Nearly a month ago, she slipped while walking and fractured her right ankle. She was being treated at DRDO Apollo Hospital. On Monday evening, she came to her maternal home at Maruti Nagar in Kothapet area to get a review of her fractured leg at the hospital.
On Tuesday morning, she along with her father Narsimha Chary was on a bike, going to the hospital. After they crossed the Saibaba Temple in Kanchanbhag area, two bike borne snatchers attacked her from behind. “She noticed them and tried to push them away but lost her balance and fell on the ground. She could not balance herself due to her ankle fracture,” said Kanchanbagh Detective Inspector N. Ravi.
