YSRC leaders feel the heat of tribals’ protest wrong foot by tribals

The row over bauxite mining in Vizag agency area took a new turn
Visakhapatnam: The row over bauxite mining in Vizag agency area took a new turn on Monday when a group of tribals detained some YSR Congress leaders for a few hours before eventually releasing them. According to sources, some YSRC leaders from Vizag city, including Paderu MLA Giddi Eswari, visited the tribals in Jerrela in Chintapalli mandal on Monday to express their solidarity and support to their protest against the proposed nod to bauxite mining in Vizag agency area.
However, naming late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy as the man who had first proposed mining for bauxite in the Agency area, the tribals tried to attack the YSRC leaders with their sickles and arrows. However, the tribals changed their mind and detained the leaders for several hours. They asked the leaders to tender an apology and also write a letter of support for their agitation.
Over the last few days, Vizag Agency has been witnessing an uneasy calm over GO No. 97, that was issued on Thursday, facilitating mining for bauxite in Jerrela blocks in Chintapalli mandal.
