Vinson M. Paul reiterates he'd never interfered

It may be recalled that Mr Paul had gone on long leave after the Vigilance court ordered further investigation into the bar bribery case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Despite the adverse remarks of the High Court in the bar bribery case, Vigilance director Vinson M. Paul on Monday stuck to his stand that he did not do anything unlawful in the case and even offered to tender a public apology if it is proved otherwise.

"I still say that there was no pressure on me in connection with the bar bribery case. I never instructed the investigation officer (SP R. S. Sukesan) to give the final report in a particular manner.

Whatever action I took in the case were only as per the norms," Mr Paul told a section of the media. He further said, "If any one comes up and reveals that they had imposed any pressure on me in the case, I would offer an apology in public without any hesitation."

It may be recalled that Mr Paul had gone on long leave after the Vigilance court ordered further investigation into the bar bribery case and made scathing remarks against him.
