DGP TP Senkumar response to Sapphire Hotel report on Wednesday
Kochi: DGP T.P. Senkumar will on Wednesday respond to the Kochi City Police’s report recommending departmental enquiry against Francis Shelby, the central station CI, on his alleged involvement in the demolition of Sapphire Hotel.
“The report has reached my office and in two days, most probably on Wednesday, I will give a reply,” the police chief told DC. He said he was not in a position make further comments as he had “not fully gone through the report.”
Ernakulam IG M.R. Ajith Kumar forwarded the rep-ort to him on November 2. The hotel was demolished on October 16, at 1.30 am, and the preliminary investigation headed by DCP Hari Sankar confirmed the CI’s involvement.
It is learned that another police officer and Kochi Corporation Councillor were also involved in this case.
