Coast Guard apprehends Bangladeshi fishermen, boats

Coast Guard officials said that the boats were carrying 60 kg of fish

Kolkata: The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has apprehended 57 Bangladeshi fishermen along with their two boats for trespassing into Indian territorial waters.

The Coast Guard ship Sucheta Kriplani apprehended the boats yesterday for carrying out illegal fishing three nautical miles within Indian waters during a routine patrol.

Coast Guard officials said in Kolkata that the boats carrying 60 kg of fish were apprehended and investigations were being carried out.

The boats are being taken to Sagar Island for handing them over to marine police today.
