Dhaka: Bangladesh cricketer Shahadat Hossain’s wife, Nritto, has been granted bail by the court to take care of their kid. The couple, arrested for torturing and beating an 11-year-old maid, had been in prison for more than two weeks.
“Shahadat remains in jail since last 15 days. His wife was granted bail by the court as they have a small child,” said Dhaka police sources.
The 29-year-old paceman was also suspended from cricket after police raided his house on the complaints of the injured and crying maid left on the road.
Earlier, the cricketer had blamed his wife for the misery.
“I have been busy playing the game, and if the housemaid was really tortured, it was not by me but my wife," the 30-year-old right-handed fast bowler told the court.
