PM Modi to meet BJP leaders to discuss Bihar debacle

The impact of the party's defeat in the Bihar Assembly polls will be deliberated

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a meeting of the BJP's parliamentary board on Monday to discuss the impact of the party's defeat in the Bihar Assembly polls.

The meeting of the party's top-decision making group - consists of 12 leaders- will be chaired by party president Amit Shah. Other members of the group include Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley, Venkaiah Naidu and Nitin Gadkari.

The mahagathbandhan won 178 seats in Bihar, a commanding two-third majority in the 243-member assembly. The Bharatiya Janata Party and its allies had to settle for a mere 58 seats.

Various opposition leaders have dubbed the BJP's drubbing as a rebuke to the aggressive campaigning by the Prime Minister.
