Andhra Pradesh govt asks officers to be ready to deal with rain situation
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao on Monday directed officials to be prepared for any situation arising out of the heavy rains in coastal districts in the ongoing North East monsoon season.
"Reviewing the cyclone preparedness, Chief Secretary said the officers are to be fully prepared for pre- and post- cyclone situation," a government release said here.
There is a chance of heavy rains lashing the coastal districts during the week, it said.
Rao also said that a nodal officer should be appointed in all the concerned departments.
The North East monsoon and a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal have led to gusty winds and rains in the coastal belt of the state.
