New book chronicles remarkable Korean War friendship

It tells the story of two Korean War Navy pilots
Concord, Massachusetts: A remarkable friendship and a lifelong promise are the subjects of a new book. "Devotion" tells the story of Korean War Navy pilots Tom Hudner and Jesse Brown.
The men were from vastly different backgrounds. Hudner grew up white and privileged in Massachusetts. Brown grew up poor in Mississippi before becoming the Navy's first black pilot. When Brown was shot down near the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea in 1950, Hudner crash-landed his plane in hopes of saving his friend. But he couldn't pull Brown from the wreckage and had to be rescued by a helicopter.
Before Hudner left, he promised to return. The now-91-year-old made it back to North Korea in 2013, but couldn't get to the crash site because of poor weather. Author Adam Makos says it's a story that had to be told
