BJP exploits temporary: VM Sudheeran

The party would look into the debacle and try to understand reasons

Kochi: KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran said he was accepting the people's verdict and all the issues, including the bar bribery scam, would be discussed in detail by the KPCC office bearers’ on Nov 11 and its executive on Nov 12.

He dismissed the BJP coming second in the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation as a temporary phenomenon.

He said the state of LDF’s prominent leaders was also the same. The party would look into the debacle and try to understand reasons.

“The mass base of the Congress is intact. Still a comprehensive and real scrutiny is needed. We will evaluate with an open mind whether there were any lapses in the campaigning. Selection of candidates was also very crucial. I don’t think the failure will not reflect in the Assembly elections,” he told reporters at the KPCC office.

On rebel candidates who won he said the party would not seek their support. KPCC general secretary Sajeev Joseph has been entrusted to submit a report on Congress candidates involved in corruption cases and yet contested as rebels.
